Meet Pastor Joy!

Pastor Joy was raised Roman Catholic. As a teen, she became involved in Teen Challenge's ministry in NYC. In her home church, she became a youth leader, a Sunday School teacher, and preached her first sermon at the age of 17. Sensing a call to ministry, after two years at NYU School of Business, she transferred to Central Bible College where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Bible. Since then, Pastor Joy raised a family, earned an MBA, and worked (most recently for Harvard University and MIT) while also remaining involved in various aspects of church ministry. She has led Bible Studies and Alpha programs, founded a Women's Ministries at a local church, coordinated Vacation Bible School, assisted in church planting, and participated in short-term missions among other things.

Pastor Joy served the First Church of Squantum as Minister of Education and Outreach. She was ordained in 2012 and is a member of the National Association of Congregational Christian Churches. She has also served as Interim Pastor at First Congregational Church of Hanson.

Pastor Joy is also the founder and minister of New Day-Quincy, housed at Union Congregational Church, where she ministers to new immigrants through an English-for-Speakers-of-Other-Languages (ESOL) program and plants the seeds of the Gospel among those who have never heard of Jesus before.

This past May, Pastor Joy graduated from Boston University School of Theology with a Masters in Theological Studies and a certificate in Religion and Conflict Transformation.

Pastor Joy has three grown children and two grandchildren.
